Effects of Accreditation
Regent College of the Caribbean (RCC), has been in existence as a tertiary institution since 1945. This academic year the College is celebrating 75 years of excellence in offering quality tertiary education in Jamaica and the Caribbean. In 2020 the College obtained accreditation from the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) for the Bachelor of Art in Theology with two options for a Minor: Business Management or Counselling. The College had previously obtained accreditation from the UCJ for the Associate Degree in Business Studies and the Diploma in Theology programmes in 2010.
As one of the oldest seal of collegial quality in tertiary education, accreditation is a primary measure that fosters quality assurance and improvement in higher education. The accreditation process and procedures have also enable RCC to engage in sustainable self-evaluation against established development goals and international standards. The process also facilitates institutional sustainability and fitness for purpose that result in capacity building and sustainable development.
RCC affirms that the accreditation process has had a positive impact on its approach to administration and has enabled the College to maintain parity with international standards in the quest to develop the global person. The process results in greater levels of effectiveness and mastery in programme development and delivery which is expected to result in efficiency in the context of the churches and business enterprises in which our students serve.
On this World Accreditation Day the administration, students and past-students as well as other stakeholders of this noble institution joyfully celebrate the faithfulness of our God in enabling RCC to implement reliable quality assurance mechanisms that have been cemented into the culture of the College…
